Position Summary
The Experienced Sheet Metal Fabricator / TIG Welder is responsible for fabricating custom metal products from engineering drawings and shop drawings using a variety of sheet metal fabrication equipment and TIG welding techniques.
The ideal candidate enjoys fabricating from raw material through finished product and possesses strong sheet metal forming skills, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to producing exceptional craftsmanship.
This is a full-time hourly position with overtime opportunities.
Essential Responsibilities
Strong knowledge of reading and interpreting blueprints, shop drawings, mechanical drawings and fabrication details.
Set up, operate and properly use fabrication equipment including: Press Brake (highly preferred), Shear, Punch Press, Cold Saw, Notcher, Welder.
Form, shear, notch, cut, and prepare sheet metal components accurately.
Perform precision TIG welding, ensuring strong, clean welds on stainless steel and other metals.
Properly set up and adjust welding equipment.
Grind, finish, polish, and inspect completed work to ensure exceptional quality.
Assist with final assembly, packaging, and quality inspections.
Occasionally assist at jobsite with installation of commercial and residential custom metal products.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Work efficiently while minimizing material waste.
Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding project progress.
Help out in other areas as needed in our small team oriented shop.
Able to perform basic math calculations accurately for measurements and material estimations.
Required Experience
Minimum 5 years of sheet metal fabrication experience.
Minimum 5 years TIG welding experience (stainless steel preferred).
Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication techniques.
Ability to independently fabricate custom parts from drawings.
Experience reading blueprints and shop drawings.
Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
Ability to write simple notes and create basic sketches.
Experience using common metal fabrication tools safely.

Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
Reliable transportation.
Ability to occasionally travel to job sites.
Ability to work in schools and commercial facilities.
Ability to pass drug screening when required.
Personal phone use is limited to scheduled breaks.

8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Occasional Saturdays
8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
In-person position

Compensation - Starting Pay:
$22–$27 per hour beginning pay based on experience.
90-day performance evaluation with opportunity for wage increase.
