CWI (certified welding inspector) – Central Maryland
Pay: $77,000.00 - $82,000.00 per year:

Join a growing team as a Certified Welding Inspector where you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of structural steel on commercial construction projects. This is a hands-on field position that offers variety each day, collaboration with industry professionals, and the opportunity to contribute directly to the success of complex builds across the region. Work and travel to the sites independently. Become an owner through the ESOP of this great reputable firm!
*This is as full-time, permanent position with excellent benefits! $77k-82k per/year.
What you’ll do:
Perform inspections, observations, and tests of structural steel during erection on commercial or civil construction sites
Document findings accurately in accordance with accepted engineering practices
Work closely with contractors, technicians, and project managers to ensure compliance with project specifications
Interpret engineering drawings, plans, and specifications
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with project stakeholders
Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and professionalism in the field
Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive salary range: $77,000–$82,000, commensurate with experience

Requirements
What we’re looking for:
1–3 years of experience in construction and structural steel erection
AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification
ICC High Strength Bolting certification
Level II certifications in PT, MT, and UT in accordance with ASNT SNT-TC-1A
Strong knowledge of AWS and AISC specifications
Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
Have a reliable vehicle suitable for construction site travel
Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Familiarity with additional standards (ANSI B31.1, B31.9, AWS D1.5) and other trades such as concrete, soils, fireproofing, and EIFS is a plus
