We are seeking a skilled Welder / Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for interpreting blueprints and technical drawings to cut, machine, bend, and TIG weld metal components to precise specifications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced production environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintains a clean and safe work area and complies with the company’s safety requirements while meeting time estimates as assigned to each job Plans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job Repairs and fabricates various items and equipment using cutting, heating, and welding techniques and equipment Monitors the welding, heating, and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage Prepares, assembles, and tacks weld parts and surfaces to be welded Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered Practice 6S principles daily Complete all applicable documentation for current operations Machining and weld prepping of raw materials; ability to operate a band saw and Bridgeport-style milling machine. Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Thorough understanding of machines and tools used in welding including designs, uses, maintenance and repair Basic understanding of design techniques, principles, drawings, and tools necessary for the precise production of technical plans, drawings, models, and blueprints Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms Basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding assignments Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Must be able to weld components that are vertical, horizonal, or overhead Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work Must be able to see details at close range Ability to lift 50+ pounds Demonstrated experience collaborating with colleagues and co-workers, with the ability to work effectively both independently and in a supportive diverse team environment
Credentials and Experience:
High School graduate or GED equivalent Completion of a formal apprenticeship OR successful completion of an in-company, three-year training program required or; 5+ years tig welding experience 3+ years fabrication experience
