Description

• Assist with the development of a QC team. Provide Training for inspectors in both Welding and Coating
• Learn and understand Merrill’s Quality Manual and Procedures that are written to be in compliance with AISC 207-23 Standard for Certification and AISC 420-10 Complex Coating Standard.
• Work with all departments involved with the AISC Certification. Perform Internal Audits for compliance
• Daily Weld and Coating Inspection 
• Conduct Weld Performance tests 
• Monitor shop welding for compliance to Welding Procedure Specifications. 
• Track nonconforming materials and errors. Communicate with Production and Quality Management.
• Issue Corrective Action when needed.
• Always focusing on continuous improvement
• Assist with customer third party inspections.
• Be the Management Representative during AISC Initial and annual audits

Requirements

• Current certification with American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI). 
• Non Destructive Testing (NDT) certifications or experience in the Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT or MPT) methods
• Any AMPP, NACE, or SSPC is a plus.
• Structural Steel Welding and Inspection experience. 
• Any experience with the American Institute for Steel Construction (AISC)
• Proficiency with shop drawings and a comprehensive understanding of weld detailing
