With little to no direct supervision, the Fleet Technician III - Fabrication is responsible for the manufacturing of all Mobile Storage rental fleet equipment, including containers, ground level offices, office trailers, and/or other custom projects in a highly skilled, safe and professional manner. This position requires an employee to possess a high degree of independent judgment. This position may specialize in a specific skilled trade. The Fleet Technician III - Fabrication must be capable of effectively performing all duties of an Equipment Associate and a Fleet Technician I & II.

What you'll do:

• Equipment Manufacturing (rental and sale fleet, steps, and related equipment)
• Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of Mobile Storage quality standards
• Proficiency and expertise in some or all of the following: HVAC, electric, plumbing, welding, fabricating, reading blue prints, plasma table, shear, brake press, iron worker, and blasting.
• Proficiency and expertise in some or all of the following: framing, paneling, trim, final prep, door/window installation or removal/install of UR decals and equipment numbers
• Hooking mobile office to power source
• Complete assignments on time and within budget, and as documented on the work order
• As assigned, provide guidance, training, and day-to-day coordination of work activities for Equipment Associates and Fleet Technician I's and Fleet Technician II's
• Equipment Modifications completed in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications and state and local building codes
• Follow Mobile Storage and United Rentals 5S guidelines
• Store tools, supplies, and Value Added Products (VAPs) in proper and secure place
• Keep yard organized and free of debris
• Inbound and outbound equipment inspections and processing; follow Rental Flow procedures
• Fork Lift Operations
• Show and exhibit fleet to customers when needed
• Safely install and/or uninstall VAPs according to reservation requirements

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Trade skill training preferred or equivalent years of experience
• Active, applicable state class driver's license
• 5+ years of experience in the construction industry and repairing and maintaining equipment and tools
• Advanced construction knowledge and background
• Demonstrated leadership, teamwork and customer service skills
• Demonstrated time management skills
• Ability to utilize required information technology
• Working knowledge of heavy equipment, tools, and manufacturers' warranty process
• Ability to coach and mentor less experienced operations staff
• Exposure to bright light, extreme temperatures, loud noise, dust, or fumes
