Responsibilities
The Welder is responsible for cutting and joining metals and other materials at EFW facilities. They will operate appropriate equipment to assemble pieces of metal together or repair damages using heavy machinery that emits high heat and melting the metal into shape. The welder must be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions and have knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties is essential.

- Perform fabricating and welding on-site.
- Determining the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
- fabricating and welding a variety of customer crates to prints, sketches, and mig welding.
- Grind carbon steel using solid-cored wire.
- Responsible for machine setup.
- Finish all welds including chipping, grinding and sanding.
- Read blueprints and drawings.
- Comprehend technical instructions.
- Take and read measurements.
- Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces.
- Interpret and follow technical layouts and procedures.
- Follow specifications and instructions for maximum efficiency.
- Use manual and semi-automatic welding equipment.
- Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.
- Keep all machinery in working order and perform simple repairs as required.
- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
- Comply with company C-TPAT and TSA security procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The qualifications listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MMA etc.)
- Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
- Has a steady hand and great attention to detail.
- Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
- Excellent hand-eye coordination
- Ability to read and interpret general business documents. Ability to write routine reports and general business correspondence. Ability to work with peers and communicate basic concepts.
- Ability to solve practical problems through standardized solutions that require limited judgment. Ability to follow prescribed and detailed procedures to solve routine problems.
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.

SUPERVISION
Position functions with supervision and has no direct reports.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Minimum of a High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 5 years of experience. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee is frequently required to lift as much as 100 lbs. and carry 50 lbs. They are required to spend hours stooping, kneeling, crawling, walking, and standing. The employee may endure long periods in awkward positions while bending, stooping, or standing, and the employee must be able to perform repetitive motions.
