Description
Buyers Products company, a leading manufacturer in the work truck industry, is searching for a Weld Team Lead for at Tracom that will be responsible for safety, quality and production along with working with team members, cross functional support teams and management to improve people and processes in Weld.
Primary Job Duties:
o Enforce safety protocols and procedures
o Ensure proper use of PPE
o Execution of Safety Toolbox Talks
Compliance with Quality Standards and Procedures
o First Piece and in process quality inspections
o Identifying and resolving weld defects, red tag defective parts, disposition of defective parts.
o Follow and reinforce Quality Standards, standard work instructions, and procedures to team members
Production responsibilities
o Assign tasks to welders based on skills and project requirements
o Communicate and work with team members to ensure they are meeting or exceeding expectations of jobs
o Update Hour by Hour production Boards / Vorne Production Boards
o Minimizing production downtown by escalating any issues to the supervisor immediately
o Assist the supervisor in managing the daily expectations are being met to accomplish throughput goals for the shift
o Drive housekeeping and 5S in the weld department
o Ability to identify opportunities for improvement in team members, layouts, fixturing, and weld processes
o Participate in the development and creation of training plans for associates
o Audit and maintain paperwork – Work Order accuracy, schedule attainment, production logs
o Executing daily schedule
o Coordinate communication between welders, grinders, robot techs and material handlers
o Evaluate changes necessitated by material and/or machine availability
o Training new employees
Skills/ Experience:
Ability to read, understand and interpret Weld Blueprints
Experience with manual and Robot Welding in Stainless Steel – preferred
Proficiency in various welding processes
Applicable experience in a high-volume production manufacturing environment
Ability to identify and resolve problems
Ability to effectively communicate with cross functional teams
Basic computer skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Previous role in leadership preferred
Education Background:
HS Diploma or GED
Welding certifications preferred
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
Standing, Walking and Sitting for extended period of times
Mobility and dexterity to move around operating machinery and powered industrial equipment
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to operate power tools and vibrating equipment
Ability to work on site to physically support manufacturing requirements

Requirements
